1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

BraceletsThe Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC) understands that no two men will fight this disease the same way, therefore the PCEC understands that no two people will want to raise awareness the same way!  The PCEC offers a variety of programs both big and small to increase national awareness and educate men and the people in their lives about prostate health.  For example, men can take charge of the health and participate in one of our many free or low cost screening events.  Or one can raise awareness and funds as a participant, coordinator or volunteer with our SET the PACE events.  Or it could be even as easy as having a beer or taking a bike ride through one of our amazing partner programs!   Not looking to participate or host an event?  Check out our Awareness and Education Programs.  Read up on the important role woman take in prostate health or find out who is with us in the fight against prostate cancer.

As the founders and coordinators of the Prostate Cancer Awareness Week program, we organize hundreds of FREE or low-cost screening events across the nation and now, worldwide.  In 2011, we added screening sites in Japan and Dubai!  As a result of our efforts, nearly 5 million men have received early detection screenings for prostate cancer and other prostate conditions. Many of our screening sites offer screening not only for PSA and DRE, but include screenings for other men’s health issues as well.

The series, launched in 2001, increases national awareness of prostate health and educates men and their loved ones about the importance of early detection. In 2011, the SET the PACE program expanded from a national run/walk series to encompass all awareness events.  With new events being added every month, SET the PACE ensures men and women from all walks of life are reached.
